MICKEY ROURKE was arrested early yesterday morning in Miami for
driving drunk . . . on a Vespa scooter.
Rourke and a female companion left a Miami nightclub at around
4:00 in the morning and got on the scooter.
Rourke then swerved right in front of a cop and was immediately
pulled over . . . just one block away from the club.
According to the police report, Rourke told the officer, quote,
" I'm not drunk. I didn't even drink that much."
Apparently, though, he was . . . because he failed a field sobriety
test.
JENNIFER LOPEZ finally admitted she's pregnant Wednesday night,
during her joint concert with husband MARC ANTHONY in Miami. She
told the crowd, quote, "Marc and I are expecting" . .
. after which Anthony kissed her stomach.
Speaking of babies....DENNIS QUAID and his wife Kimberly had twins
yesterday morning . . . a boy and a girl. Their names are Thomas
Boone and Zoe Grace.
They were born via "gestational carrier" . . . which
means that another woman carried and gave birth to them . . . even
though, biologically, the kids belong to Dennis and Kim.
"Us Weekly" says that NICOLE RICHIE and JOEL MADDEN made
an offer on a home in a gated community in Southern California .
. . and were DENIED by the other residents . . . supposedly because
they were worried about the media hanging around.
A so-called "source" says, quote, "Nicole was livid
because she loved the house. She thinks it's a B.S. reason, but
she couldn't fight it.
Going Green
"Deal or No Deal" . . . 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. on NBC, tonight
(--Kermit the Frog helps a contestant and the models wear recycled
parachute dresses as part of "green" nonsense.)

FARRAH FAWCETT SAYS SHE'S "DOING WELL" IN HER LATEST
BATTLE WITH CANCER: But she isn't claiming victory yet. She said,
quote, "[You] never can say for sure. It's ongoing." Farrah
went to Germany for some kind of "alternative treatment"
to go along with her chemotherapy. She said that went well, and
now she's doing Pilates and lifting weights to keep her stamina
up.
BRITNEY SPEARS' mom, LYNNE SPEARS, tells "Life & Style"
magazine, quote, "For everything that's gone wrong for Britney,
I blame myself. "I didn't raise my children to have Hollywood
careers. This all just exploded in my face, and big dreams became
big headaches." As for her relationship with Britney, Lynne
says, quote, "We've reunited. We're friends."
MANDY MOORE might have a new boyfriend. The "New York Post"
says she was spotted on a date at a Beverly Hills restaurant last
week with MATTHEW PERRY. Mandy is 23 . . . Perry is 38.
A so-called "on set source" tells the "New York
Observer" that LINDSAY LOHAN is in "serious talks"
to do three episodes of "Ugly Betty". If this is true,
Lindsay would be playing a former beauty queen, who's now working
as an assistant manager at the fast food chain where Betty's dad
works.
--"Ugly Betty". . . 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. on ABC. (--Victoria
"Posh Spice" Beckham guest stars as Wilhelmina's maid
of honor.)
HEATH LEDGER is playing the Joker in the next Batman movie . .
. "The Dark Knight". And JACK NICHOLSON . . . who played
the Joker in TIM BURTON'S 1989 "Batman" . . . is NOT cool
with that. When MTV News asked Jack how he felt about it, he said,
quote, "I'm furious. I'm furious. They never asked me about
a sequel with the Joker. I know how to do that! Nobody ever asked
me.
The late-night talk shows have been honoring the writers strike
this week. And initially, ELLEN DEGENERES said she was going to
honor the strike on her daytime show. But that lasted a grand total
of . . . one day.Yeah . . . after honoring the strike by not showing
up for work on Monday . . . Ellen was back to taping her show on
Tuesday. Ellen did defend her decision to cross the picket lines
at Tuesday's taping. She said, quote, "Here's what the deal
is. It's 'sweeps', which is a very important time in television.
"I want to say I love my writers. I love them. In honor of
them today, I'm not going to do a monologue. I support them and
hope that they get everything they're asking for. And I hope it
works out soon. In the meantime . . . "People have traveled
across the country. They've made plans. They're here. I want to
do everything I can to make your trip enjoyable and give you a show."
(--The episode airs TOMORROW.)

Yesterday, KEVIN FEDERLINE asked the court to make Britney pay
his legal fees . . . in the amount of $160,000.
He told the courts that he's a, quote, "self-employed performing
artist" who, quote, "does not earn any income" besides
$20,000 in spousal support. (--Which, from what we understand, runs
out in about a week.) Your man K-Fed didn't get everything he wanted
. . . but he got most of it. Britney was ordered to pay $120,000.
RUSSELL CROWE has decided to be baptized. Russell is 43. He says,
quote, "I'd like to do it this year. My mom and dad decided
to let my brother and me make our own decisions about God when we
got to the right age. I started thinking recently, 'If I believe
it is important to baptize my kids, why not me?'" He adds,
quote, "I do believe there are more important things than what
is in the mind of a man. There is something much bigger that drives
us all. I'm willing to take that leap of faith."
VINCE VAUGHN is one of those people who refuses to own a cell phone.
He said, quote, "I don't own a cell phone because . . . the
old way always worked for me. You call me, I call you back, like
a gentleman." Vince has no problem borrowing somebody else's
phone when he needs to make a call. But unlike most people in that
situation, Vince DOES see the irony. He says, quote, "I will
say to my friends, 'Can I use your cell phone?' A friend in need
is a pest. I am an annoying friend that way."
GEORGE OSMOND . . . the father of a ton of singing Osmonds, including
DONNY and MARIE . . . passed away yesterday. He was 90 years old.
(--George's wife, Olive, died in 2004.) A HUGE Osmond reunion was
scheduled to go down on "Oprah" this Friday. Over 125
Osmonds were expected to be present. According to "Entertainment
Tonight", the "Oprah" reunion still ON . . . and
it'll be taped tomorrow.
Marie skipped out on the "Dancing With the Stars" results
show last night, for obvious reasons . . . but she and her partner
survived to dance another week. Her father's death came the day
after Marie dedicated one of her dances to him.)Interestingly, fellow
"Dancing With the Stars" contestant JANE SEYMOUR . . .
who was eliminated last night . . . lost her mother earlier this
season. Then there was Marie's fainting spell . . . and Jane's food
poisoning. Not to be a "Dancing With the Stars" geek,
but it really has been a bizarre season with all this stuff happening.
|
| October 31, 2007
JANE SEYMOUR missed last night's "Dancing with the Stars"
results show due to food poisoning. It's been a tough year for Jane.
Since the show started, she lost her mother and then ALMOST lost
her home in the California wildfires. But she DIDN'T lose "Dancing
With the Stars". . . yet. Despite Jane's getting the lowest
score from the judges on Monday, it was CHEETAH GIRL minx SABRINA
BRYAN who got sent packing last night. . . and the audience was
NOT happy about it.
Melanie Brown made dancing look easy Monday night. But she'll tell
you it was a challenge, thanks to a medical condition. The Spice
Girl tells "Us Weekly" that the day before she scored
a perfect 30 for her Rhumba she suffered from an eye infection that
made it nearly impossible to see. Brown credits her husband for
helping her practice. She adds, quote, "I make him stand there,
and I dance around him. He's terrible! But he's a good stand-in.
Police are investigating PIERCE BROSNAN for allegedly punching
a photographer in the ribs outside a Malibu mall last Friday. .
. after the man took pictures of Pierce with his young son.
The photographer says he retaliated by kicking Brosnan in the stomach
before running off. No charges have been filed yet.
Who is kissing who....21-year-old ASHLEY OLSEN showed up at a club
in New York Monday night with LANCE ARMSTRONG. He's 36. The "New
York Post" says she drank red wine, sat on his lap, and made
out with him all night before leaving with him around 2:00 AM.
COOLIO is coming BACK. And he's coming back thanks to reality TV.
Coolio is the star of a new reality show, called "Coolio &
the Gang", which will be on the Oxygen network.
The show will follow Coolio while he balances his rap career and
launching a clothing line with being a single parent raising six
teenagers.
Debby Beece is the head of programming at Oxygen. . . and she says
they picked the series because, quote, "Oxygen likes to rewrite
the rulebook for women and women's programming, and this show has
a lot of inherent female appeal.
"Coolio is a single dad raising kids and it's got a lot of
unconventional parenting aspects to it. He wants his kids to do
as he says, not as he does."

This just in: There is ONE MAN out there who turns MELISSA ETHERIDGE
on. And that man is JOHNNY DEPP. Melissa says, quote, "I think
Johnny Depp is very in tune to his feminine side.
"We all have the male and female inside us and I think it's
very attractive when you find a man, who you can tell is not afraid
of the feminine."
The Los Angeles County District Attorney has decided NOT to charge
ORLANDO BLOOM for his October 12th accident, due to insufficient
evidence.
The D.A.'s office says Bloom was indeed being pursued by four vehicles
containing paparazzi, and another full of fans. . . and his collision
with a parked car was the result of him taking, quote, "evasive
action."
BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE did NOT find out Friday if their
custody arrangement is changing. Los Angeles County Court Commissioner
Scott Gordon decided to sit on it, and issue a written ruling either
TODAY or TOMORROW.
To cheer herself up she went out partying with Dallas cowboy quarterback
Tony Romo Saturday night, he's been rumored with Carrie Underwood
and Jessica Simpson...what a player, on and off the field!!
ELLEN DEGENERES will be appearing as a guest celebrity suitcase
model on an episode of "Deal or No Deal" this season.
It'll be taped on November 9th. . . but won't air until sometime
in January.
She'll be the first guest celebrity suitcase model to appear on
the show. . . but for now, there's no word on if they plan on making
this a semi-regular feature.
It's also not clear if Ellen will wear something other than a PANTSUIT.
The suitcase models on the show always wear MATCHING DRESSES.
Thanks to the movie "Ratatouille", today's kids apparently
don't want dogs, cats or goldfish anymore. No. . . now, they all
want RATS. In England, pet stores have been selling 50% more rats
since the movie opened.
The same effect also happened here, in Germany and in Sweden. .
. with rat sales going WAY UP after the movie came out. Steve Fairburn,
who owns the British chain Pets at Home, says, quote, "It seems
'Ratatouille' has done wonders for the image of rats."

Britney Spears is reportedly taking steps to make herself a better
parent. The singer, who lost custody of her two young sons several
weeks ago, showed up for her first Parenting Without Conflict session
yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Kevin Federline, the father
of two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, was
also said to be in attendance. He has custody of the kids while
Spears has monitored visitation rights at this time. The Parenting
Without Conflict program reportedly teaches parents how to cooperate
with each other and proper communication skills. Spears' attendance
is one of the requirements set by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner
Scott Gordon, along with random drug testing. Spears and Federline
are due back in court tomorrow for another custody hearing.
It seems that Christina Aguilera's yet-unannounced baby already
has a name. A source close to the pop star says Christina, quote,
"Rubs her baby bump and talks to the baby, calling it Jordy."
Aguilera is married to record exec Jordan Bratman, which could explain
the inspiration behind the name. The source also says Christina's
friends and family threw her a baby shower over the weekend. Aguilera
has yet to confirm the pregnancy rumors.
Celebs like to spend money
- Naomi Campbell spends $700 on eyelash extensions every six weeks
- Brad and Angelina pay their bodyguards between $65,000 and $125,000
a
year. Their nannies get around $100,000 a year.
Who is dating who....
"Us Weekly" says that "American Idol" reject
CONSTANTINE MAROULIS is dating DEBBIE GIBSON.
Constantine says, quote, "She's a sweetheart. She's classy,
has built a nice career and doesn't drink or do drugs. We're close,
and it's cool." (--Debbie Gibson is 37. . . Constantine is
32.)
The editors of "Vanity Fair" have compiled a list of
the Top 50 soundtracks. . . and they gave PRINCE'S soundtrack for
"Purple Rain" the top spot. Coming in second was THE BEATLES'
"A Hard Day's Night" "soundtrack".
The list will be a part of a special, one-time magazine called
"Movies Rock", that comes out next month . . as well as
a CBS special of the same name in December. But for now, they've
only revealed their Top Ten soundtracks. . . here they are:
#1.) (The soundtrack from) "Purple Rain" (--By PRINCE.)
#2.) (The soundtrack from) "A Hard Day's Night" (--By
THE BEATLES.)
#3.) (The soundtrack from) "The Harder They Come". .

#5.) (The soundtrack from) "The Graduate" (--By SIMON
AND GARFUNKEL.)
#6.) (The soundtrack from) "Superfly" (--By CURTIS MAYFIELD.)
#7.) (The soundtrack from) "Trainspotting". . . (--British
rock music.)
#8.) (The soundtrack from) "Saturday Night Fever" (--Includes
THE BEE GEES.)
#9.) (The soundtrack from) "American Graffiti". . . (--Rock
and oldies.)
#10.) (The soundtrack from) "The Big Chill". . . (--R&B

Marie Osmond fell down, but she's not out of ABC's "Dancing
With the Stars." Following her fainting spell Monday night,
the 48-year-old performer was back on the floor -- standing -- for
last night's results show. The episode included footage of Osmond
shot immediately after she passed out, while the show was in a commercial
break. Once she was back on her feet she stepped forward and curtsied.
During last night's live portion of the show Osmond once again stressed
that she's fine. She admitted that she has allergies, and attributed
her blackout to difficulties breathing given the poor air quality
right now in Southern California. She added that she's eager to
resume with the competition. Not returning is entrepreneur Mark
Cuban. Throughout his tenure he consistently landed toward the bottom
of the judges' leader board, and was making his second appearance
in the bottom two. Upon leaving, Cuban noted that he had a great
time, adding that he's lost more than 30 pounds as a result of the
show.
Last night's episode also featured Jennifer Lopez, who performed
two songs with the professional dancers. Her appearance had been
in question following the death of her grandmother over the weekend.
Up next for the remaining contenders are new individual routines
and a group dance, which they'll showcase on the next "Dancing
With the Stars" airing on ABC on Monday.
Mariah Carey says there's one thing she needs before she becomes
a mother -- a stable marriage. The pop star appeared on yesterday's
episode of ABC's "The View" admits that her parents' divorce
had an effect on her outlook of motherhood. However, when asked
if she has a man right now, Mariah smiled and said, quote, "I
don't know how to answer that today." Mariah also discussed
the current crop of pop females and their troubles. While not mentioning
any specific names, Mariah advised the celebs to find a higher power.
She added, quote, "If you're not spiritually centered, you're
kind of back and forth." Earlier this month, Mariah appeared
in "Glamour" magazine where she advised pop stars to avoid
reading the tabloids.
If you're thinking about putting some moves on AMY WINEHOUSE, you
should first observe how high her hair is. Because the higher it
is, the more likely it is that she's DRUNK AND INSECURE.
Amy says, quote, "I'm quite an insecure person. I'm very insecure
about the way I look. I mean, I'm a musician, not a model. The more
insecure I felt, the more I'd drink.
"And to Tracey Trash, who does my hair, I'd be like, "Bigger!
Bigger!". . . like the more insecure I feel, the bigger my
hair has to be."
On November 3rd, "NBC Nightly News" stud BRIAN WILLIAMS
will become the first network news anchor to host "Saturday
Night Live". He'll probably do a great job. If you've been
watching "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" recently, you've
probably noticed that Brian appears frequently as a giant head projected
on the screen behind JON STEWART.

Tori Spelling's Southern California bed and breakfast has been
evacuated because of the wildfires. Tori and husband Dean McDermott
own Chateau La Rue, located near Temecula, Calif. The inn is currently
featured on their reality show, "Tori and Dean: Inn Love"
on Oxygen. Tori and hubby were in L.A. Monday to catch a taping
of "Dancing With the Stars" and support former "90210"
castmate Jennie Garth. "We got a call that our Temecula [wine
country] B&B was being evacuated. We had a lot on our minds
tonight. We have friends who are watching [the situation]."
The Promises Rehab Center in Malibu, where many celebrities have
gone for treatment, had to be evacuated yesterday due to the local
wildfires. Media executive David Geffen is letting Malibu evacuees
and firefighters stay for free at the Malibu Beach Inn, a five-star
hotel he owns in the area
If you missed "Dancing with the Stars" last night, then
you missed MARIA OSMOND FAINTING on live TV. Marie and her partner
had just finished a samba, and were getting their comments from
the judges. . . when Maria just DROPPED to the floor.Host TOM BERGERON
quickly went to commercial. When the show returned, Marie was back
up and looking embarrassed, waiting backstage for her scores. She
explains that this happens to her once in a while, when she gets
winded. She said, quote, "I stop breathing. I'm so sorry."
Several people who used to work for Britney Spears are asking to
public to boycott the singer's new album. E! Online reports that
the group, which calls itself "Be Proactive To Help,"
has set up a MySpace page. The site asks people to refrain from
buying Britney's upcoming album "Blackout" until she seeks
help. "Be Proactive To Help" also outlines methods to
help, which include contacting Jive Records, MTV and Britney's management
to let them know about the boycott. The group blames the business
people around Britney who continue to "capitalize on her every
move" despite that fact that she is a "very broken woman."
For more information, log onto www.myspace.com/beproactivetohelp.
Britney's new CD hits stores a week from today.
Do you ever think how future generations are going to miss out on
the likes of Paris Hilton? It'd be a shame, wouldn't it? Paris thinks
so too. According to the New Zealand Herald, Paris has supposedly
bought a substantial amount of shares in the Cryonics Institution
in Michigan. Seems Paris is thinking of freezing herself when she
dies. Paris said: "Almost all the cells in the body are still
alive when death is pronounced ... If you're immediately cooled
you can be perfectly preserved. My life could extend by hundreds
of thousands of years!"

EVA LONGORIA is now Eva Longoria PARKER. She says, quote, "I
completely adopted the new name and I love it. I'm a Parker now.
I love every bit of it. . . I like the tradition of changing the
name."
OPRAH WINFREY made an unscheduled trip to her school for girls
in South Africa on Friday. . . after finding out that an employee
there had been removed from the premises as a result of a, quote,
"serious claim of misconduct."
An investigation is underway, and it involves the local police
department's Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses
Unit. . . which usually handles cases of sexual and physical crime
against women and children.
Oprah issued a statement saying, quote, "Nothing is more serious
or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult
against any girl at the academy."
BILL MAHER was almost forced to administer a BEAT DOWN while hosting
his HBO show "Real Time with Bill Maher" on Friday night.
During the LIVE taping, a rowdy audience member. . . (--who'd smuggled
in a sign reading "9/11 is a cover-up fraud"). . . began
yelling 9/11 conspiracy theories. After ignoring the first couple
interruptions, Maher finally cracked and said, quote, "Do we
have some security in this building, or do I have to come down there
and kick his a@# ?"
At that point, Bill ran off the stage. . . into the audience. .
. and PERSONALLY helped his security grab the heckler, and push
him out of the studio.
VALERIE BERTINELLI is joining the "Rachael Ray" show,
as a, quote, "celebrity content buddy".
Her first segment, "A Girls' Guide to the Gridiron" will
air on tomorrow's show. It was shot at last week's "Monday
Night Football" game in New Orleans. According to one of the
producers, Valerie won't be on the show every day.
There are certain celebrities who are going to occasionally get
into altercations in the parking lots of Waffle Houses. . . and
KID ROCK is obviously one of those celebrities. Kid Rock and five
members of his entourage were arrested early yesterday morning on
misdemeanor battery charges, following a fight at a Waffle House
in Atlanta.
Here's what happened: Kid and his crew rolled into the Waffle House
at around 5:15 A.M., following a performance in the city the previous
night.
It sounds like a woman in Kid Rock's party may have been a GROUPIE
he picked up the night before. . . because a random male customer
at the Waffle House recognized her. . . and started arguing with
her.
Things escalated into an all-out brawl in the parking lot. There
aren't a lot of details on the fight but the guy who started the
argument went to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
He was also charged with one felony count of second-degree criminal
damage to property for breaking a $500 window at the restaurant.
Kid posted bond late yesterday afternoon.

BRITNEY SPEARS has settled with the woman whose car she dinged in
a parking lot back in August. Britney agreed to pay the woman $1,000
for damages and rental car expenses.
Law enforcement sources are saying they'll probably DROP the criminal
hit-and-run charges, now that this thing is settled.
Twelve FBI agents raided a Las Vegas warehouse belonging to DAVID
COPPERFIELD on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the FBI says the raid
was related to a Seattle case. . . but they wouldn't give any details
beyond that.
The warehouse is where Copperfield supposedly stores all his sweet
magic tricks. But Fox News says the agents weren't interested in
the magic stuff. . . instead, they left with a computer hard drive,
a digital camera system, and $2 MILLION in cash.
E! is reporting that MARIAH CAREY might be dating VANESSA WILLIAMS'
ex-husband, former L.A. Laker RICK FOX. They were seen together
at a few L.A. clubs Wednesday night. Reps for both of them say they're
NOT dating.
BOBBY BROWN has signed on to star in an upcoming CMT reality show
called "Gone Country". The show will feature JOHN RICH
(--of the country group BIG & RICH) trying to turn B-list celebrities
into country singers.
The cast also includes: CARNIE WILSON, Twisted Sister frontman
DEE SNIDER, SISQO "DA DRAGON!", "Brady Bunch"
minx MAUREEN MCCORMICK, JULIO IGLESIAS JR. and "American Idol"
reject DIANA DEGARMO. (--There's no word yet on an airdate.)
Us Weekly asked Eva Mendes what role she really wanted, but didn't
get ... "I really wanted Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Eva says. "I
was ten minutes away from auditioning when my agent left me a message
telling me the part had been offered to Angelina Jolie. I got really
crazy, ignored it, and auditioned anyway. I really thought I had
a chance!"
Just think... had Eva gotten the part in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Brad
and Jen might still be together today.
And Speaking Of Brad...
In Touch reports Brad used to strip when he was a student at the
University of Missouri. A guy named Thomas Whelihan, who claims
to be one of Brad's Sigma Chi fraternity brothers, said: "When
a girl from one of our sister sororities turned 21, the Bares --
there were seven of them (Brad was one) -- would put her in a chair
and come out butt-naked with pillowcases on their heads and do a
choreographed dance for her. The girls would be laughing so hard.
It was great!" THAT must have been quite a sight...

The California Tax Board just released a list of the state's 250 WORST
TAX CHEATS. . . and there are three names near the top that you might
recognize: O.J. SIMPSON, DIONNE WARWICK and SINBAD. . . (--The comedian,
not the mythical sailor.)
--O.J. is at #33 on the list, with an outstanding tax bill of $1.4
million.
--Sinbad, who owes $2.1 million, is 23rd.
--And Warwick, with a bill of almost $2.7 million, sits proudly
at #17.
"Viva Laughlin" [SERIES Premiere]. . . 10:00 to 11:00
P.M. on CBS. (--A drama about a guy who opens a casino and gets
involved in a murder mystery. "X-men" stud Hugh Jackman
is the show's producer and is also one of the recurring guest stars.)
--What makes this show unusual is that it's also a MUSICAL, with
some of its characters. . . including Jackman. . . occasionally
just bursting into song. MELANIE GRIFFITH is also in it
On Sunday night, during a gig in Melbourne, Australia, LINKIN PARK
singer CHESTER BENNINGTON BROKE HIS WRIST.It happened about four
songs into the set, when Chester tried to jump off some stairs.
He says that right before he jumped, his foot got caught in between
the stairs, and he fell on his arm. After the band took a few minutes
to, quote, "make some adjustments". . . the show continued.
Chester came out and finished the entire set, while standing with
his arm held up limply. He was clearly in pain.
When the show was over, Chester was taken to the emergency room.
Parents: If, for some reason, you're not interested in paying some
scalper hundreds of dollars to get your kid a ticket to see HANNAH
MONTANA in concert. . . Disney has come up with a tantalizing new
Plan B.
They're making a Hannah Montana concert movie. . . and they're
going to shoot it in 3-D.
The movie will be called "Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus: Best
of Both Worlds Concert Tour". . . and it'll be filmed during
several stops on MILEY CYRUS' 54-city, North American tour. . .
They plan to release it at your local overpriced multiplex from
February 1st through the 7th. That's right. . . one week only.
Kevin Federline has reportedly been smoking marijuana on the set
of his new TV show. He's filming a guest spot on the hit teenage
basketball drama One Tree Hill - stunned cast and crew on the Wilmington,
North Carolina set by openly lighting up illegal cannabis cigarettes.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "He is smoking
marijuana all round the set, like it is just part of his lifestyle.
The smell is so potent it's obvious that he is not just smoking
regular cigarettes.... He doesn't seem to see a need to hide it
at all." Kevin has also been making his presence known in Wilmington
with his generous tipping. One local bartender said: "I have
served him a few times and he has always been really generous. He
once left me a $600 tip for just two beers." Hey, that's Britney's
money!

Ellen DeGeneres isn't laughing about this one. The comedienne/talk-show
host broke down on her syndicated talk show yesterday over an adopted
dog. Ellen originally took the pooch in, but then gave it to her hairdresser's
daughters when the dog didn't get along with her cats. DeGeneres is
torn up by the adoption agency's decision to take the dog away from
the family.
Ellen adopted the Brussels Griffon mix from Mutts and Moms last
month. The agency reportedly went to the hairdresser's house with
police in tow to get the dog back, claiming DeGeneres violated the
adoption contract by giving the dog away. The owner of Mutts and
Moms is not commenting on the situation.
Reason #459 HOWARD K. STERN is creepy and weird --the NY Daily
News' Gatecrasher gossip column says the longtime companion of the
late ANNA NICOLE SMITH still has her voice on his home answering
machine. When you call, Anna picks up and says: "Hi, it's me.
You know what to do, so do it, thanks, bye. Date and number! Kiss,
bye, mwah."
There have been rumors about a possible live-action "Star
Wars" TV show for a while now. Well, it's happening. GEORGE
LUCAS confirmed it yesterday.Lucas says he's just begun work on
a weekly TV show that will feature some of the more random characters
from the "Star Wars" universe. As Lucas put it. . . quote:
"The Skywalkers aren't in it, and it's about minor characters.
It has nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or any of
those people. It's completely different. But it's a good idea, and
it's going to be a lot of fun to do."
Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather is the latest to be knocked out of
the competition on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." While
the prize fighter had shown improvement over the course of the show,
he was typically on the low end of the leader board, and this week
was making his second appearance in the bottom two. In saying goodbye,
Mayweather said he had a great time on the show, and called it "marvelous"
that he made it as far as he did. When his name was called, the
judges, who said the boxer had potential, gave him a standing ovation.
Next up for Mayweather is a bout against British boxer Ricky Hatton.
Both fighters will be entering the ring undefeated. They'll battle
it out in Las Vegas on December 8th. Joining Mayweather in the bottom
two was Spice Girl Melanie Brown. It was the first time "Scary
Spice" was in danger of being eliminated, and seeing her at
risk left the judges stunned. Meanwhile, judges doled out "tens"
in scoring for the first time this season. "Cheetah Girl"
Sabrina Bryan earned the first perfect score, receiving 30 points
from the judges.
ELISABETH HASSELBECK has pushed up her maternity leave from "The
View" from November 9th to. . . right after next Tuesday's
show. Her last day was bumped up after her husband. . . marginally
talented quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. . . was signed as a backup
quarterback by the Arizona Cardinals. She's leaving early to go
with him, and have the baby in Arizona.
"Deal or No Deal". . . 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. on NBC. (--Sharon
Osbourne is on hand to give moral support to a breast cancer survivor
going for the million. Alec Baldwin and Elizabeth Edwards also chime
in via satellite.)
The latest group to STICK IT to the music industry is. . . THE
SPICE GIRLS. On November 13th, their greatest hits album won't be

Last week, a judge ordered BRITNEY SPEARS to turn herself in to be
photographed and fingerprinted on her hit-and-run charge. (She racked
that one up when she bumped another car while trying to pull into
a parking space this summer.) Britney took care of that last night.
She checked into the Van Nuys County Jail around 9:30 P.M. and was
in and out in about 45 minutes. A spokesperson for the LAPD said Britney
was polite and cooperative. And while the cops offered her DISCREET
REAR ENTRY into the building. . . she opted to go through the front
door like a normal person.
Britney Spears was left more than a little red-faced during a shopping
trip in Los Angeles on Sunday when a helpful paparazzi bought her
the wrong CD - ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake's new album. In an
effort to avoid the snappers' flashbulbs, the pop superstar ushered
a photographer to do her shopping for her at Hollywood's Virgin
Megastore while she waited in her car in a parking structure. But
the hapless 'personal shopper' misheard Spears when she asked for
Timbaland's new album - and bought her Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds"
instead. Not wanting to appear to snub her ex, Spears simply drove
off with the wrong CD.
Gloria Estefan is pulling out of tonight's scheduled appearance
on "Dancing With the Stars" due to a family emergency.
The singer's publicist tells "E! News" that Estefan's
mother is very ill. Estefan's rep says that the singer rushed home
to Miami yesterday to be with her mom. No word if ABC has found
a replacement. Estefan was expected to perform "A Bailar"
from her new album "90 Millas." The CD debuted at number
one on the Billboard Latin Tropical Albums chart. Tonight's "Dancing
With the Stars" will see the ouster of another celebrity based
on the votes of the viewing audience and the judges.
Paula Abdul says she's legitimately excited about the upcoming
season of "American Idol." The former singer turned judge
tells "People" magazine this year's crop of hopefuls includes
some with, quote, "very, very exciting talent." Abdul
admits she wasn't so sure about last season's contestants from the
get go, but that she learned to love some of them along the way.
This time around, she promises "good-looking kids" who,
quote, "went out on a unique limb to be different and to capture
our attention." Of course, along with the "American Idol"
good comes the "American Idol" bad. Paula says season
seven won't disappoint in that department. She notes, quote, "There's
going to be one person who's probably going to have a bigger career
than William Hung." The seventh season of "American Idol"
gets underway in January on Fox.
It looks like Christina Milian is looking to follow in Lynda Carter's
footsteps. The singer who left Def Jam Records last year after disappointing
sales of her last album "So Amazing," says she wants to
play Amazon princess Wonder Woman in the big screen adaptation of
the "Justice League of America." It's the same role Jessica
Biel had reportedly been negotiating until the deal fell through.
Milian thinks her interest in comic books should make her a strong
candidate for the role. "The Hollywood Reporter" quotes
her as saying, "I used to want to work in comics. I wanted
to be an illustrator. I wanted to write books, and mostly, I wanted
to write 'Justice League.' I still have the comic books I collected
from that." Milian will still have to persuade director George
Miller that she's right for the part. Her competition reportedly
includes Elizabeth Winstead and Teresa Palmer. For now, she's getting
her super hero fix with an upcoming appearance on the CW's teenage
Superman drama "Smallville." The episode is scheduled
to air on October 25th.

to media reports. Friends claim the actress wants to spend more time

boyfriend Owen Wilson.
When talk show talking head Regis Philbin goes on vacation, Jimmy
Kimmel will fill in for Philbin in New York and film his own late
night TV show in Los Angeles. For five days, Kimmel will film "Live
With Regis and Kelly" in the morning, and then hop on a plane
for L.A. and film his own show at night. Just call him Jet Lag Jimmy. After
his transcontinental travel, Kimmel's hosting the American Music
Awards. "I also drive a cab on weekends," he said. Somebody
give this guy a break!
Enrique Iglesias filmed scenes Thursday for an upcoming guest spot
on CBS' The Young and the Restless. The episode is set to air Nov.
7 and will feature Enrique performing the song "Somebody's
Me" from his latest album, Insomniac. "You need any outlet
to put your music out there," the singer explains. Enrique's
recent TV credits include guest appearances on two other CBS shows,
How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men.
Elliott Yamin has been designated a global ambassador for the Inspired
by Diabetes Creative Expression Competition, an international contest
aimed at raising awareness and funds for children afflicted by the
disease. "I'm thrilled to be joining this important campaign,"
the American Idol alum and longtime diabetic says. He was also previously
named a national spokesman for the American Diabetes Association.
The California Department of Justice served numerous search warrants
Friday, in their ongoing investigation into the death of ANNA NICOLE
SMITH. Most, if not all, of the warrants seem to be connected to
doctors Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor. . . both of whom
allegedly over-prescribed drugs to Anna Nicole.
ATTORNEY GENERAL JERRY BROWN declined to give specifics, but he
said, quote, "You don't go to a judge and get a search warrant
for someone's home if you don't think some serious crime has been
committed.
"Prescribing drugs in an illegal manner can be criminal."
ORLANDO BLOOM was involved in a minor car accident early Friday
morning that left two female passengers injured.
Bloom was behind the wheel of a black, 2003 Toyota Matrix when
he was cut off by another driver. When he swerved to avoid the other
vehicle, he ran into a Porsche Cayenne that was parked on the side
of the street.
Police said Bloom was not speeding. . . nor was he under the influence
of alcohol or drugs. The car Bloom was driving was registered to
the cinematographer of the "Pirates of the Caribbean"
movies. He wasn't in the car, though.
If Orlando Bloom didn't do anything wrong, though, it's not clear
why he initially tried to WALK AWAY FROM THE ACCIDENT. . . leaving
the two injured women in the car. . .!!!
It took a member of the paparazzi to convince Bloom that he'd better
go back and DEAL WITH THE SITUATION. . . or he could be facing a
hit-and-run. A 30-year-old woman sitting in the front seat suffered
a cut to her neck from her seatbelt, while a 35-year-old woman in
the back seat. . . who was described as a childhood friend of Bloom's.
. . suffered a fractured neck.
Bloom accompanied both women to the hospital, where they were treated
and released.
WILL SMITH'S production company, Overbrook Entertainment, is developing
a TV series based on that "Hitch" movie he starred in
back in 2005. Will WON'T be starring in the show, though. (--It'll
be pitched to various networks soon.)
Troubled singer Britney Spears has a new addition to her growing
army of concerned friends - former love Justin Timberlake's mom.
Lynn Harless has been making frantic trips to Britney's Beverly
Hills home, where the Toxic star is currently residing after losing
custody of children Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James
to ex-husband Kevin Federline earlier this month. Harless has remained
close to Britney since her split from Timberlake in 2002, and is
desperate to help the singer through a difficult time. She says,
"I love Britney to death. She is a sweet girl. I just hate
what she is going through."
Quote of the Day:
"There's only one way to keep your shape -- put on your bikini
every day or at least every other day, so you keep an eye on your
weight."

DREW CAREY is engaged. His new fiancée is a recent culinary
school graduate by the name of Nicole Jaracz. No word yet on a wedding
date. By the way, the first "Price Is Right" episode with
Drew as host airs on Monday.
Jessica Simpson can forget her singing career if she wants - she's
making a killing off Proactiv. The buxom blonde just renewed her
deal with the face-wash company and has made new infomercials that
will air close to Christmas. "She did re-sign for another year.
She has a great relationship with them," said her business
manager, David Levin. Simpson was rumored to have gotten a hefty
$3 million paycheck for the new ads
EVA MENDES was so afraid of spiders that she underwent HYPNOSIS
to get over her fear. She says, quote, "You lie down, you relax
and then she takes you through this kind of relaxation thing."And
then the cool thing is you think it's only three minutes and then
the whole hour went by. I don't know what she did in there but it's
helped. Now, I'll see [a spider] and I'll just be like, 'Cool, what's
up. . . ?' and we're cool with each other."
On Wednesday night in New York, KANYE WEST made a surprise onstage
appearance. . . at a MAROON 5 concert.He performed "Heard 'Em

the most anticipated adult couple costume, beating out other celeb
couples like Bill and Hillary Clinton, David and Victoria Beckham,
and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

KIEFER SUTHERLAND will serve his 48-day prison sentence in TWO
INSTALLMENTS. Beginning December 21st, he'll do 18 days for his
parole violation. The remaining 30 days. . . which are for his DUI.
. . will have to be completed by July 1st.
This will allow Kiefer to serve his time without disrupting the
shooting schedule of "24". He'll serve the first part
of his sentence while the show is on break for the holidays. . .
and the second part after the show wraps its seventh season.
Yesterday, word came down that BOBBY BROWN had suffered a MILD
HEART ATTACK on Tuesday night.
Bobby. . . who's only 38. . . had his girlfriend take him to the
hospital after he experienced tightening in his chest and tingling
in his arm. Doctors reportedly determined that he had indeed suffered
a mild heart attack. . . probably brought on by, quote, "stress
and diet".
Last night, however, Bobby himself released a statement saying
he DIDN'T have a heart attack. He said, quote, "None of its
true. I went in for a checkup. The doc gave me a clean bill of health."
Here's the thing, though. . . when Bobby Brown arrived at the hospital,
he videotaped messages to his loved ones IN CASE HE DIDN'T MAKE
IT. And he said right to the camera that he DID have a heart attack.
In Part One, Bobby clearly admits to the heart attack. . . and
gives love to his parents, his sisters, his kids and his boys in
NEW EDITION.
MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ was sentenced to SIX MONTHS in prison yesterday,
for failing to complete the community service she was ordered to
do as punishment for a DUI. In fact, she even LIED about doing it.
The judge said Michelle submitted paperwork saying she completed
her community service. . . which included cleaning streets in Los
Angeles. . . on September 25th. But the court found out Michelle
was in New York that day.
Michelle also drank alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring
device. The judge ordered her to begin serving her sentence on CHRISTMAS
EVE.
As you may or may not have known, the world has been in TOTAL CHAOS
for the past 18 hours or so, as rumors of MC HAMMER'S DEATH have
been circulating on the World Wide Web of Misinformation.
Luckily, those rumors are NOT true. MC Hammer is ALIVE AND WELL.
Here's how this chaos got started: Hammer's real name is STANLEY
BURRELL. Recently, ANOTHER Stanley Burrell died. Somebody mistook
them for the same person, and reported that MC Hammer was dead.
Not only is MC Hammer alive. . . he's on his way BACK TO THE TOP.
He's starting up a new website called DanceJam.com. . . where you
can send Hammer videos of yourself dancing. . . and he'll critique
them. (!!!)
(--The site isn't running yet. . . but if you go there and submit
your e-mail address, you'll be informed when Hammer will begin performing
this very important public service for us.)
OWEN WILSON has decided NOT to entrust his well-being to traditional
rehab and or therapy methods. Instead, he's trying some HOLISTIC
alternatives.
These include a HEALING TRIP to Arizona. . . where he will rid
his body of toxins in a traditional Native American sweat box. He
will also undergo hypnosis and attend group therapy for addiction.
JENNIFER ANISTON. . . who will star with Owen in the upcoming film
"Marley & Me". . . has also turned him on to YOGA,
meditation and breathing techniques.
"Live with Regis and Kelly" will celebrate Halloween
this year with a special 3-D episode. If this sounds like a worthwhile
use of your time, you can go to your local Walgreens to get a pair
of 3-D glasses.
This will be the first 3-D presentation in the history of daytime
TV. The episode will air on Halloween day. . . and the guests will
be "DR. PHIL" MCGRAW and THE BACKSTREET BOYS.
(--By the way. . . Regis is doing another primetime game show.
He'll host a new version of "Password". . . "MILLION
DOLLAR Password". . . for CBS. It'll air sometime later this
year.)
The new BRITNEY SPEARS album will drop two weeks earlier than planned,
due to widespread Internet leaks.
"Blackout" was initially supposed to drop on November
13th. . . but now it'll be in stores the day before Halloween, October
30th. Jive said a lot of the songs that have been leaked have been
unfinished demos. . . but some were indeed album cuts.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that Pamela Anderson is two months
pregnant with new husband Rick Salomon's baby. Makes sense. They
sure got married in a jiffy! A "source" told the upcoming
issue of In Touch that Pam, 40, learned she was pregnant on September
29th -- the same day she and Tick applied for a marriage license.
Pam's supposedly happy she's pregnant, and is happy to have finally
found a guy to settle down with ...
An "insider" said: "She's listening to her heart.
Rick adores her and will be the best husband she's ever had"
(that's kinda not too hard to beat, given her track record). "Pam
says that after all these years of looking, the right one was right
there beside her the whole time."

It's time for Wayne Newton to say goodbye on ABC's "Dancing
With the Stars." While the veteran entertainer knows how to
impress a crowd on the Las Vegas stage, he wasn't able to win over
enough viewers to keep him in the competition. Over the past three
weeks Newton consistently received the lowest scores from the judges,
but despite his short run on the show, Newton says he has no regrets.
In his departure he expressed his gratitude for the chance to try
something new, noting he thinks it's important for people to stretch
themselves and step out of their "comfort zones."
A couple of big-name pop stars and a former "American Idol"
finalist are leading the way heading into the 35th Annual American
Music Awards. Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé and Daughtry, each
earned three nominations. Fergie, Rihanna, Maroon 5 and Jennifer
Lopez each scored one nod. For the first time ever in the 35-year
history of the AMAs, the winners will be determined by an online
vote. To participate, visit AMA.ABC.com. Votes will be collected
through November 1st. The 35th annual American Music Awards will
air live on ABC Sunday, November 18th at 8:00 p.m.
Ozzy Osbourne will be unloading some of his personal belongings
in an upcoming auction. The heavy metal icon and other family members
are selling a collection of clothing, jewelry, furnishings, and
decorative items from their homes in Los Angeles and England. Roughly
200 of the 600 lots contain material seen on the hit MTV series
"The Osbournes." Ozzy's favorite coffee cup, the bronze
Devil's head front-door plaque, and a cast iron cross that hung
in Ozzy's den are among the goods from the show going up for bid.
Ozzy notes in a statement that he doesn't want to part with these
things, but claims -- with an expletive -- that wife Sharon told
him their home will "explode" if they don't unload the
stuff. He adds, quote, "As long as she does not ask me for
a pair of my boxers for the auction I will support it, especially
since it is helping raise funds for her charity." Some of the
money generated by the sale is earmarked for the Sharon Osbourne
Colon Cancer Foundation. Julien's will handle the two-day auction,
set for the Gibson Guitar Showroom in Beverly Hills on November
30th and December 1st.
Usher's new CD and new fragrance put on hold because new wife wants
him to focus on her and the baby ...Usher fans not happy!
Palisades Medical Center in New Jersey suspended dozens of doctors
and hospital employees after they allegedly leaked George Clooney's
medical information to the press following his motorcycle accident
last month.According to the report, hospital officials are investigating
whether staffers not directly involved in caring for Clooney and
his girlfriend, Sarah Larson, logged into the hospital computer
system to review his medical records.
BRITNEY SPEARS has passed multiple random drug tests, according
to her attorney (Sorrell Trope). He says, quote, "She's passed
her random drug tests. There's been more than one. They came up
negative." Britney also had another supervised visit with her
boys yesterday. . . from morning until early evening. Britney has
apparently accepted the fact that the visits are monitored. A so-called
"source" says, quote, "It's all stabilized and it's
all good."
DAVID HASSELHOFF fell off the wagon on Monday, and was HOSPITALIZED.
David's rep said, quote, "David had a brief relapse and immediately
recognized the importance of addressing it with the assistance of
his doctors. He is doing fine and will be back home in the morning."

BRITNEY SPEARS enjoyed her first supervised visit with her kids yesterday.
. . at Britney's home in Malibu. It's not clear how long the visit
was, or what Britney did with the kids under the watchful eye of the
court-appointed supervisor. After it was over, KEVIN FEDERLINE'S bodyguard
picked the boys up and returned them to safety, a.k.a. Kevin's house..
"Don't read the tabloids. Don't be obsessed with what people
are writing or saying. Live your life for you." Those are Mariah
Carey's words of advice for the growing number of troubled young
female celebrities getting caught up in the flashing bulbs of the
media spotlight. The pop superstar, who has weathered her own struggles
in the public eye, tells "Glamour" magazine that being
"very centered" and knowing where you are "spiritually"
at all times can also keep you on the right path.
Melanie Brown definitely thinks "Dancing With the Stars"
is harder than her Spice Girls dancing. The singer admitted, quote,
"The Spice Girls were like routines for six-year-olds. Everyone
can do it!" She also said that she was shocked by a recent
tour development, where a Spice Girls show in London sold in 38
seconds
Teri Hatcher is writing a second book. The 42-year-old released
her first book "Burnt Toast: And Other Philosophies Of Life"
last year and has already started work on a follow-up. She says,
"This book just goes a little farther away from seeming like
it's about me and more towards the idea of how women in our society
are really put upon to wear so many different hats."
CHARLIE SHEEN has a problem: He has about 13 tattoos. . . and he's
about to marry a woman who HATES THEM. According to the "New
York Post", Charlie is considering getting them ALL LASERED
OFF. . . because his fiancée, BROOKE MUELLER, isn't a fan.
Charlie already got his "Denise" tattoo removed from
his left wrist. That was obviously for his ex-wife DENISE RICHARDS.

Britney Spears and her mom are back together, for now. She received
a visit from her estranged mother, Lynne Spears over the weekend.
Lynne flew into Los Angeles Friday night to spend some time with Britney.
Also along for the trip was Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn. Britney
and her mother have had a rocky relationship since June. The move
comes just days after Britney was ordered to give up custody of her
two boys for failing to follow the judge's orders in her court battle
with ex-hubby Kevin Federline.
Last week's debut of Britney Spears' new video "Gimme More"
was apparently a false alarm. "People" magazine reports
the actual video for the single is slated to debut on MTV's "TRL"
this afternoon. Sources tell the mag that footage from two separate
video shoots was used to create the clip.
Britney Spears' Beverly Hills home was allegedly burgled with thieves
swiping an X-rated collection of steamy photos, videotapes and dominatrix-style
costumes.

appear on the U.K. talent search series "X-Factor," produced
by "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell. Michael Jackson
will serve as a mentor to the contestants on the series.
Sean "Diddy" Combs has admitted to fathering a sixth
child. 15-month-old daughter Chance was born to Sarah Chapman, after
denying the child was his for a year. Diddy says he did so, because
he was awaiting DNA testing, but now that it is "clear"
that Chance is his, he "will take care of her for the rest
of her life." His relationship with Sarah Chapman is thought
to be the cause of his and longtime girlfriend Kim Porter's split
this year. Speaking of Diddy....He has pledged his support to the
Spice Girls world tour... He is donating a $8 million fleet of buses.
He is currently designing bullet-proof buses complete with jewels
for the girls.
Mariah Carey's 12,000 square foot New York city Triplex is so big.....She
has a 3,000 square foot closet along with a separate closet for
lingerie.... In the November addition of Glamour Magazine...They
asked her how many bathrooms she has in her 12,000 sq. foot pad...she
said, "I don't know! Do you really want me to try and think
about it?"
There's more evidence suggesting that Christina Aguilera is carrying
a child. .....A manager at West Hollywood store Bel Bambini says
Christina Aguilera and her hubby, Jordan Bratman, stopped in Saturday
to fill out their baby registry. Christina and Jordan also reportedly
let the Bel Bambini staff know the sex of the child, but asked them
to keep it a secret.

WITH ALL THE TECHNOLOGY OUT THERE, THE THING THAT MAKES YOUR BABY
THE SMARTEST IS. . . PLAIN, GENERIC BLOCKS:
Any new parent out there knows this: These days, there are a TON
of companies out there BOMBARDING parents with products to make
their babies SMARTER. "Baby Einstein" DVDs. Flash cards.
Video games. CDs of brain-friendly classical music.
--BUT. . . according to a new study by the Seattle Children's Hospital
Research Institute, the product that does the best job at making
your baby smarter is. . . blocks. Plain, old, generic wooden or
plastic blocks.
--They found that children, ages 18 months to two-and-a-half years,
who played with blocks, scored an average of 15% higher on cognitive
development tests than children who didn't.
--Here's their theory of WHY that happens. By playing with blocks.
. . like stacking them into a tower or putting Legos together. .
. it helps a child start grasping the world around them.
--It also helps their imagination. . . leading to better impulse
control and attention spans.
--There are two other good side effects of playing with blocks.
One: It gets the parents down on the ground, playing with their
kid. . . and parent/child interactions like that are one of THE
biggest keys to brain and social development.
--And two: It focuses children away from the TV, which can also
help their brain and attention span.

son of actress Angelina Jolie gets a whopping 50-dollars every time
he looses a tooth. Angelina Jolie reportedly lets Maddox do whatever
he wants to with the money he earns.
It seems Simon Cowell's criticism of singing hopefuls isn't always
a bad thing. Simon was reportedly filming an audition episode for
his British singing series "The X Factor" recently when
he noticed that 46-year-old Jacque Gray had a strange sound quality
to her voice, like she was "choking or something." .....Simon
Cowell than advised her to see a physician. When she did, it was
discovered that she had the potentially fatal lung disease bronchiectasis.
Jacque Gray tells Britain's "The Mirror" that if she wasn't
checked out, quote, "it could have killed me" and credits
Simon Cowell and his fellow "The X Factor" judge Sharon
Osbourne with saving her life.

COURTNEY LOVE is denying SHARON OSBOURNE'S recent claim that she,
Courtney, introduced
JACK OSBOURNE to the painkiller OxyContin when he was a teenager.
In fact, she says it was the other way around.
She claims she never even heard of OxyContin. . . a.k.a. Hillbilly
Heroin. . . until she met Jack. She says, quote, "It was the
first time I was ever introduced to the pills."
Tom Cruise is laying out plans to build a huge underground bunker
at his Telluride, Colorado estate. It will have
a state of the art air purification system and will be large enough
with enough equipment and supplies for at
least ten people to survive for years. It'll cost about $10 million.
Hey what does Tom know that we don't?
After High School Musical wraps, sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa
Hudgens are planning to team up
again - this time to play Donny and Marie Osmond! Disney thinks
they're perfect for the Donny and Marie TV movie.
The Osmond brother and sister duo ruled TV with a long running
variety show in the 70's, and their private lives
featured lots of backstage drama. It'll be a challenge for makeup
artists to make Zac and Vanessa look like brother and
sister, but it sounds like fun with those 70's haircuts and platform
shoes.
The Russian stripper at the heart of the OSCAR DE LA HOYA cross-dressing
scandal now regrets sharing the pictures. . . in part because she
"only" made 70-grand for her efforts.
There's an audiotape floating around that's SUPPOSEDLY a voicemail
message that the stripper. . . Milana Dravnel. . . left for the
guy who helped her sell the pictures. (He also helped set her up
with an "Entertainment Tonight" interview.)
In the message, Dravnel says, quote, "I can't believe we did
this! For $70,000 you let them take advantage of me? What is going
to happen to me? I've crushed a million hearts of kids. . . I'm
really upset. I can't eat. I can't sleep."
(--In related news, Oscar De La Hoya's lawyer issued a statement
yesterday, saying that a, quote, "well known and independent
photo forensic expert" has examined the pictures, and it's
his OPINION that they're fake.)
So you've heard that Kiefer Sutherland was arrested for a DUI yesterday
(Tuesday), but did you know it was on the same day he was honored
with the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists'
Award of Excellence in Los Angeles? (The honor is presented every
other year to Canadian actors who work primarily in LA)
Jane Seymour, 56, and Marie Osmond, 46, already have quite a fan
base of Dancing with the Stars viewers who are rooting for the more,
ahem, mature women to boogie their way into the finals. But Seymour
revealed yet another reason to cheer her on when she stopped by
Ellen on Monday: her mom."I was really, really sad, because
my mom had a stroke, and she's in a nursing home, and she can't
talk anymore and she can't move," Seymour had been asked to
do (the show) and I mentioned it to her over the phone and my mother
started trying to talk. She went, 'Wuhwuhwuhwuhwuh,' she got so
excited. So then I said, 'Well, Mommy, I'm going to do it for you,
and I hope you'll be proud.' And she said the first word she's ever
said (since the stroke).
She said, 'Yes!' And we were all in shock. So I'm doing it for
her!!!!!!

"24" star Kiefer Sutherland was busted on suspicion of DUI
in West Hollywood last night after allegedly blowing more than twice
the legal limit. This is the actor's second DUI in the past five years--
he was arrested in 2004. By California law, if he's convicted, he
must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail. After being pulled
over for making an illegal U-turn, his blood-alcohol level tested
twice the legal California limit of point-oh-eight. After he was booked
at the Hollywood Police station, he was released on 25-thousand-dollars
bail. Sources say he was, quote, "cooperative and mellow."
He now faces an October 16th court date. Sutherland plays federal
agent Jack Bauer on the Fox terror-drama series.
Last night's installment of "Dancing With the Stars"
also saw another surprise -- Drew Lachey as co-host. The former
98 Degrees singer -- and season two "DWTS" winner -- was
announced as the replacement for new mother Samantha Harris. Lachey
joined Tom Bergeron on the telecast, interviewing the couples as
they came off the dance floor. Back in 2006, Drew and his professional
partner Cheryl Burke beat out former football great Jerry Rice and
Anna Trebunskaya for the "Dancing With the Stars" disco-ball
trophy. Harris is on maternity leave after giving birth to a baby
girl over the weekend. No word on when she'll return.
This Christmas, NBC is giving us something that we ALL desperately
want: ANOTHER reality singing competition. In this one, five so-called
"celebrities" will return to their hometowns to assemble
a choir made up of everyday people. The choirs will then compete,
and like "American Idol", America's votes will eventually
determine the winner. The show's called "Clash of the Choirs".
. . and it's going to air on four consecutive nights, from December
17th to the 20th.
The new MELISSA ETHERIDGE album, "The Awakening", drops
today. . . but she won't be going on tour immediately. Melissa has
four kids. . . and she's putting her responsibilities as a parent
ahead of her touring schedule.
She says, quote, "I'll go on tour next summer, when the kids
are out of school. Believe me, I want to be out there. . . but when
you've got kids, you just don't want to run off, and I don't want
to run off. So I tour in the summer."
(--Melissa's two kids with her ex-girlfriend JULIE CYPHER are now
10 and 8 years old. She also has 11-month-old twins with current
girlfriend TAMMY LYNN MICHAELS.)

MARIO LOPEZ says that OSCAR DE LA HOYA is taking the release of those
SUPPOSEDLY fake cross-dressing pics in stride. . . Mario says, quote,
"He wasn't upset. He was sort of laughing. His wife was teasing
him that he looks better in lingerie than she does. He's very comfortable
in his own skin. . . he's really not sweating it."
As you may have heard, the pictures were leaked by a New York City
stripper who claims she had a year-long affair with Oscar. A source
close to the the woman says, quote, "She's very disappointed
that Oscar isn't coming to terms with his feminine side."
Oscar's attorney released this statement yesterday. . . quote,
"Oscar does know the woman who we believe is selling these
photographs to the tabloid media. But he assures me that the photos
are phony. He has asked me to pursue his legal remedies."
BEN AFFLECK used to be a pretty hardcore poker player. Then he
got married. The "Star" says Ben gave up playing poker
so it wouldn't cut into his family time with JENNIFER GARNER and
their daughter Violet...But now he's back to playing poker. . .
online. He supposedly plays up to four times a week, and can drop
up to 20-grand PER DAY...A so-called "source" says, quote,
"Their marriage is going strong, but she wants him to stop
before it causes a problem between them."
Marc Anthony's love of Kentucky Fried Chicken has led to an interesting
opportunity for him and his wife. ...Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez
can enjoy the Colonel's food anywhere they go on their upcoming
tour -- for free. Upon hearing that Anthony is a big fan of KFC,
the company's president extended the invitation to the couple. So
far, the couple hasn't accepted KFC's offer.
Britney Spears has too much in common with Anna Nicole Smith for
one astrologer's liking. Michael Lutin, who is the resident horoscope
person for "Vanity Fair," posted a message saying that
Britney and Anna both share the Sagittarius sign with Libra as their
rising sign. Lutin suggests that people quit making fun of Britney,
adding, quote, "somebody better step in and do something or
it is going to be just like Anna Nicole."
The name of the baby girl who may have put an end to DIDDY'S relationship
with KIM PORTER for good is CHANCE....Kim recently revealed that
she left Puffy once and for all because an Atlanta woman gave birth
to his love child while she, Kim, was pregnant with his twin daughters.
JENNY MCCARTHY has been spending a lot of time lately talking about
how great her boyfriend, JIM CARREY, is with her five-year-old son,
Evan, who is autistic.
She says, quote, "Beyond doubt it was written in the stars
that Jim and Evan were a pair. He's actually helped Evan get past
some obstacles I couldn't. I sometimes call him the autism whisperer."
"He speaks a language Evan understands, and Evan feels safe
with him

A cameo in an upcoming film originally given to Owen Wilson will now
feature Matthew McConaughey. The decision was made following Owen
Wilson's apparent suicide attempt last month. The uncredited role
is in the film "Tropic Thunder," starring Ben Stiller, Jack
Black, Robert Downey Jr. and Nick Nolte.
Britney Spears has a new party pal!!!! She has resolved her differences
with Avril Lavigne, who in the past...criticized Britney for being
too weak to handle the pressures of fame.
The online gossip site X-17 posted pictures of Oscar De La Hoya
Cross-Dressing yesterday . . . OSCAR DE LA HOYA is wearing women's
panties, high heels, a fishnet bodysuit and a wig.
-Oscar's attorney says these pictures are FAKE. . . and he's demanding
that the website take them down.
Another star's parenting skills are being questioned. A former
housekeeper of Spice Girl Melanie Brown tells "Star" magazine
that the singer left then two-month-old daughter Angel Iris in her
care when she went to Las Vegas to marry Stephen Belafonte in June.
The staffer claims that "one evening of baby-sitting turned
into four days!," and adds, "The child was sick, there
was no nanny, and when Mel called, she never even asked about the
baby." A rep for Melanie Brown tells the "New York Daily
News" that "any fictitious accusations to the contrary
stem from greedy people looking to make a buck," and describes
Brown as a "hands-on mother." Melanie is rumored to be
in a nine-million-dollar child support battle with Angel's biological
father, actor Eddie Murphy. Melanie Brown also has an eight-year-old
daughter from a previous relationship.
Diddy says he know what a women should smell like like...That's
why his new perfume, Unforgettable Woman is better than any other
perfume on the market. He says, "I am going to challenge my
female counterparts, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, ....Gwen Stefani
....that my fragrance is better than theirs. I am a man, and I know
how a woman should smell."
RUMOR OF THE DAY...
MediaTakeOut.com. . . says that SHAQUILLE O'NEAL may have a baby
on the way from ANOTHER WOMAN. They say she's due SOON. . . which
would mean she got prego long before Shaq and his wife Shaunie decided
to separate. . .
By the way. . . MediaTakeOut also says there's a clause in the
prenup that gives Shaunie WAY more of Shaq's money if she can prove
he was unfaithful.

After surviving a nude photo scandal, Vanessa Hudgens is now facing
a lawsuit. The "High School Musical 2" star is being sued
by her lawyer for unpaid fees. Attorney Brian Schall claims that Vanessa
Hudgens owes him at least 150-thousand-dollars and that she has refused
to pay up.
Demi Moore has officially become Mrs. Ashton Kutcher....She finally
changed her name on her driving license and credit cards. Demi and
Ashton married in 2005.
FRED GOLDMAN and Family have already been to court asking that
all the O.J. memorabilia in question be turned over to them. . .
so that they can sell it to help pay off the $33.5 million civil
judgment they won against O.J. more than a decade ago.
Instead of ruling in their favor.....A judge asked for them to
give him a listed of items they want from the case....
He did, however, say the Goldmans could have a Rolex watch that
they saw O.J. wearing in a picture that was posted on TMZ.com.
Jennifer Lopez is rumored to be pregnant. According to "In
Touch" magazine, the 38-year-old has been seeing a Beverly
Hills fertility specialist for about two years and is said to have
undergone invitro-fertilization. Jennifer Lopez reportedly had an
ultrasound performed in New York on September 12th, which revealed
that she is 12 weeks along. The child would be the first for Lopez
and her husband, 39-year-old Latin crooner Marc Anthony.
BRITNEY SPEARS did NOT lose custody of her kids during that court
hearing on Monday. . .
--And while the judge didn't change the 50-50 custody agreement
between Britney and KEVIN FEDERLINE, he did set down some SERIOUS
rules.
--For starters, Britney will undergo random drug and alcohol testing
TWICE A WEEK.
--She also has to attend individual counseling once a week to address,
quote, "parenting issues".
--And twice a week, she has to meet with a PARENTING COACH who
will observe her skills with the boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
--The judge also had some orders for BOTH Britney AND K-Fed. They
include the following. . .
--Britney and Kevin must complete a course called "Parenting
Without Conflict". . . and attend co-parenting counseling TOGETHER.
--They've also been ordered to refrain from making derogatory statements
about each other. . . abstain from alcohol and / or controlled substances
within 12 hours of taking custody of the kids. . . and NOT use corporal
punishment on the kids.
--Also, neither one of them can take the kids out of state without
the other's permission.
With this....Britney decided to CELEBRATE!!!!
TMZ caught her at both Winston's and Hyde last night.
ON TV TODAY.....

Reba McEntire to talk about singing with Reba on her new duets album.

It has been a bad week for Britney......
Britney Spears' support system is getting smaller and smaller.
Brit's manager is the second person in less than 24 hours to part
ways with her. Jeff Kwatinetz of Los Angeles-based company The Firm
announced his decision yesterday in a statement that read, quote,
"We believe Britney is enormously talented, and has made a
terrific record, but current circumstances have prevented us from
properly doing our job."
Britney's former Bodyguard was the surprise witness in the Spears/Fed
Custody battle.....According to attorney Gloria Allred, bodyguard
Tony Baretto filed a court declaration yesterday regarding what
he witnessed while working for the Spears. Allred said her client
is very concerned for the safety of the children. She stated that
Tony Baretto was, quote, "willing to testify of nudity, drug
abuse and unsafe conditions around the children in Spears' home
and outside the home." BTW.......
Britney fired Tony Barretto on May 17th because, quote, "He
did not hear her when he was asked to pick up her hat."
BARRY MANILOW was scheduled to perform on "The View"
today, but that will NOT be happening, because Barry has BEEF with
conservative ELISABETH HASSELBECK......TMZ.com says that "The
View" dropped Barry from today's line-up, after his people
demanded that he and Elisabeth NOT be on the show together. And
Barry essentially confirms that. . . only he claims that HE cancelled
the appearance......Barry's website confirms he cancelled his View
appearance.....
--"I had made a request that I be interviewed by JOY [BEHAR],
BARBARA [WALTERS] or WHOOPI [GOLDBERG], but not Elisabeth Hasselback.
Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple
request so I bowed out.
In an interview with TMZ, Barry elaborated on his anti-Elisabeth
Hasselbeck stance. He said, quote, "I strongly disagree with
[Elisabeth's] views. I think she's DANGEROUS AND OFFENSIVE. I will
not be on the same stage as her."
Meanwhile.........
Former "The View" co-host Rosie O'Donnell has denied
Oprah Winfrey's request to appear on Oprah's talk's show. Oprah
had wanted to sit down with Rosie O'Donnell to discuss her new book,
"Celebrity Detox." However, Rosie O'Donnell declined,
and will instead do an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer. O'Donnell's
rep, Cindi Berger, tells the "Post," quote, "Rosie
has always been booked with Diane. We gracefully declined Oprah's
offer. I'm sure Rosie will do Oprah's show another time." "Celebrity
Detox" hits stores October 2nd.
Vanessa Williams is throwing her support behind a young celebrity
embroiled in a nude photo scandal. Williams, who once lost her Miss
America crown when "Penthouse" published naked pictures
of her, says "High School Musical 2" star Vanessa Hudgens
will "be fine." Forty-four-year-old Vanessa Williams told
"People" magazine that 18-year-old Hudgens is talented
and professional. Williams adds, quote, "Welcome to the lesson
of hard knocks. She got her first big one right now." A nude
photo of Hudgens began appearing on websites early this month. The
teenager came out and said the picture was a "private matter"
and wasn't intended for public release. Disney, the maker of the
"High School Musical" franchise, has supported Hudgens
throughout the ordeal.

Britney Spears could lose custody of her two kids. That's when high-profile
attorney Gloria Allred is expected to bring a "secret" witness
to court for the ongoing custody battle between Britney Spears and
ex-husband Kevin Federline. Last week, Allred filed a signed declaration
from the witness which could, quote, "blow Spears' chance of
keeping little Sean Preston and Jayden James."
"OK!" magazine says Britney Spears is talking to "Maxim"
about doing a racy. . . but NOT NUDE. . . photo spread. A so-called
"source" says, quote, "She wants to be on the cover
as quickly as they can shoot her."
Former "View" host STAR JONES will have NEW "View"
host WHOOPI GOLDBERG on her Court TV talk show this Friday. It might
be a little awkward. . .
Jessica Simpson's possible entry into the world of country music
may not be met with great enthusiasm. That's according to a poll
on "Us Weekly's" website. The magazine asked people if
they would be willing to purchase a country CD made by the pop star.
Over 65-percent of the voters said "no." Last week, Jessica's
father and manager Joe Simpson told "People" magazine
that his daughter wanted to get back to her Texas roots.
